I am a photographer based out of India. My passion lies in capturing images of people I’m intrigued by—their faces, the stories behind them, their lifestyles, cultures, and traditions. I like endlessly roaming around the streets, wherever I go, and spend time learning and understanding my subjects. Also, as is apparent from my blog, I do have a soft corner for portraits and images in black and white! About This Photoblog:
On August 1, 2008 I started this photoblog to showcase the images of people that I shoot and creating images for this photoblog has always been an exciting and fulfilling challenge. As a mark of my fondness for black and white, this site uses only different shades of grey for all its elements.
The Image Reflection came in the Top 500 category in the Nat Geo Moment Awards 2011.
The image Traditional pottery making came in the top 10 in the ‘Altered Images’ category of the Smithsonian magazine’s 7th annual photo contest from more than 60,000 entries they received from all over the world.
My entry Monsoon wait was amongst the top 20 finalists for the Nikon-Better Photography Photographer of the Year 2009 Awards from 40,000 plus entries. My entry was nominated in the Landscapes & Cityscapes theme.

I do enjoy viewing images of wrinkled, wizened faces. Many of yours, however, leave me feeling you are just snapping, rarely penetrating to the soul of your subjects.Their stares are blank. Just my opinion. Your captions rarely capture an essence, somehow missing the mark. There is nothing wrong with snapping; yet I hope you succeed in allowing them to gaze into your soul as you try to envelop theirs. I lived in Bombay years before you were born. You may see a few of my images taken around India 50 years back in Picasa albums. I recommend the photos of French photographers Roland and Sabrina Michaud taken in 60s, 70s and 80s. Thanks for the invite! Like the image of a Paniya tribal woman in Wayanad. Kerala is by far my favorite state. Found high unemployment among these tribals when I visited eight years ago; unfortunately I didn’t get around much because it was the monsoon season at this time of year (Aug); I was the only guest in a bnb, which became well known to Bangaloreans because of a post I did with TripAdvisor. Would be interesting to do genetic testing to determine origin of these tribals. Seems to the untrained eye she resembles an Australian aboriginal. Would love to visit again. I do enjoy viewing images of wrinkled, wizened faces. Many of yours, however, leave me feeling you are just snapping, rarely penetrating to the soul of your subjects.Their stares are blank. Just my opinion. Your captions rarely capture an essence, somehow missing the mark. There is nothing wrong with snapping; yet I hope you succeed in allowing them to gaze into your soul as you try to envelop theirs. I lived in Bombay years before you were born. You may see a few of my images taken around India 50 years back in Picasa albums. I recommend the photos of French photographers Roland and Sabrina Michaud taken in 60s, 70s and 80s. Thanks for the invite! Like the image of a Paniya tribal woman in Wayanad. Kerala is by far my favorite state. Found high unemployment among these tribals when I visited eight years ago; unfortunately I didn’t get around much because it was the monsoon season at this time of year (Aug); I was the only guest in a bnb, which became well known to Bangaloreans because of a post I did with TripAdvisor. Would be interesting to do genetic testing to determine origin of these tribals. Seems to the untrained eye she resembles an Australian aboriginal. Would love to visit again. He’s into scuba, cave tubing, zip-lining, all things “teens”, which I am happy to relate to. By-the-by, what is your full-time line of work, photography-wise? Mine is “retired” and “shutter-bugging” at 72! To complete the picture, I worked at Bank of America, Nariman Point five years (lived on B. the only word that comes to mind to describe your photos is incredible…I take photos and have for a few years on and off. I don’t have the skills or talent to consider calling myself a photographer…I do it for the enjoyment of it and to be the best I can be. In the past I’ve followed professional photographers simply to learn what I can to improve my skills! I do inform those I follow why I’m doing it…I think I can learn a great deal from observing what you do! I look forward to more of your photos! H

I’m scheduled to be in India for the third time in the end of the 2016. Honestly I was reluctant to come back, the dissonance between the high lifestyle and the vast poverty really struck me last time I was there.
since my last time I think I managed to change my perspective, I no longer compare life styles, rather I try to enjoy each lifestyle as its own.
I’ve taken on a personal challenge, going on 1000 trips and finishing on the summit of Everest – would love for you to visit my blog and give me your opinion on things.
