About

About Me:

I am a photographer based out of India. My passion lies in capturing images of people I’m intrigued by—their faces, the stories behind them, their lifestyles, cultures, and traditions. I like endlessly roaming around the streets, wherever I go, and spend time learning and understanding my subjects. Also, as is apparent from my blog, I do have a soft corner for portraits and images in black and white! If you would like to work with me for assignments and commissioned works, get in touch with me here.

About This Photoblog:

On August 1, 2008 I started this photoblog to showcase the images of people that I shoot  and creating images for this photoblog has always been an exciting and fulfilling challenge. As a mark of my fondness for black and white, this site uses only different shades of grey for all its elements.

  4. Dear Mr. Daniel,

I would like to get in touch with you with regard to an inquiry on behalf of Lonely Planet Magazine India.

Lonely Planet Magazine India is a leading travel publication and is published by the Times Group. The publication is over 6 years old. Over this time span, we’ve managed to grow phenomenally as a print/digital publication. However, we didn’t pay much attention to social media and are now in the process of establishing our presence over this medium.

In order to do so, however, we would need the help of popular travel influencers such as yourself. Therefore, we would like to align ourselves with you over the social media. By aligning ourselves with you, we propose the following:

    — You must ‘Like us’ on Facebook, ‘Follow us’ on Twitter and ‘Follow us’ on Instagram
    — You must share one of our Facebook posts every month
    — You must do one retweet for us every month
    — You must repost one Instagram post for us every month

In return, we will gladly do exactly what we’re asking you to do for us (exactly what has been mentioned above — one Facebook post share from your Facebook page every month, one retweet from your twitter feed every month and one repost from your Instagram feed every month in addition to liking/following your social media feeds).

Kindly do let us know if you would like to get into such a barter with us over the social media as we would like to grow over the medium, we would appreciate your help in order to grow over the medium and we would like to give you the opportunity to grow over the medium as well.

Our social media feeds are as follows:

    Facebook: @Lonely Planet Magazine India
    Twitter: @LPMagin
    Instagram: @lonelyplanetmagazineindia

Furthermore, we at Lonely Planet Magazine India do organize media tours (FAM Trips) on a regular basis in association with various tourism boards, tourism departments, etc. such as the Uttar Pradesh Travel Writers’ Conclave 2015 and the Uttarakhand Travel Writers’ Tour 2015. We will gladly invite you for such media tours (FAM Trips) as part of this arrangement, i.e. if you agree to the same.

We look forward to a positive response from you.

  12. Hi Joshi Daniel,

I am following your work for a few years now and I have to say you are a true inspiration. There are not many indian photographers with such a unique style and eye for capturing details.

Today I write to you for some guidance. I am pursuing photography for almost five years now and I have decided to take is a notch higher and try being a semi-professional. I could really use your help and guidance on how to do the same – what is the best way to get in touch with other photographers like yourself and how can I take my craft further in general.

I am based out of Bangalore. Any guidance would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.
