The bandrek is a hot beverage made of a mixture of spices and is a native to the Sundanese people of West Java in Indonesia.

Thankful to Wonderful Indonesia and the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism for a great opportunity to see Indonesia.

  1. A wonderful warm picture with an almost healing gesture evoking feeling
welcome, at home, being taken care of …I wonder what you felt like taking the picture? You have a tremendous gift of catching moments in your photography.

  2. Bandrek sounds like a drink that will spice up the tongue – I learnt a new drink today. Not sure if I’ll like it since I don’t take spice too well. Then again, I won’t know until I try :) Another wonderful shot from you, Joshi. Not a portrait this time, and I still love it :)

  3. This is such a beautiful picture…everything looks so warm and inviting and I love the tones of copper and gold. Illuminated!

  4. Bandrek is my favourite drink from Indonesia. I went twice there this year and both times ended up buying kilos of Bandrek powder. :)

  5. Excellent. But here’s a suggestion.
I know the Blog is exclusively for photography, but a lil more description about the capture won’t do any harm…. Info like Place, Event etc.
